LES ROUSSES, France, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Stefan Rettenegger repeated compatriot Lisa Hirner's success to win men's individual Nordic combined title as Austria swept two Individual Gundersen golds on offer at the Winter Youth Olympic Games here on Saturday.

Hirner had been the winner of women's individual competition, which marked a debut for the event at an Olympic event.

In men's individual NH/6km Nordic combined, Rettenegger sat atop all athletes by registering 90 meters and 120.6 points in the jumping part. He went on to witness a start-finish victory in skiing to clock 14 minutes and 45.8 seconds.

More fierce competition for men's title had been expected than women's, as top eight finishers after the jumping part were separated by 30 seconds. But Rettenegger didn't give any chance to his pursuers.

"Brilliant," Rettenegger told Xinhua. "I had a very good race and very good ski jumping. So it's perfect."

Following his country's dominating performance, Rettenegger noted that "it's very cool. Two gold medals in the first day, it's just perfect. I really even don't know what to say. It's a dream coming true."

Rettenegger, who practices the discipline around 25 hours a week, shared his anticipation towards the Winter Olympic Games in two years.

"I hope I could be a part, but I'm still very young. So I still have time," said the 17-year-old Austrian.

After placing seventh in the jumping event with a 25-second time disadvantage from the pole position, Perttu Reponen of Finland did the best job among all pursuers in skiing to claim the silver medal, 13.8 seconds adrift of Rettenegger.

Norway's Sebastian Oestvold accumulated 118.5 points to rank second in the jump, before finishing the race on third 16.3 seconds behind Rettenegger.

Nordic combined Mixed Team event is scheduled on Wednesday, the Winter YOG's final competition day. Enditem
