LES ROUSSES, France, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Marco Woergoetter of Austria denied any suspense by finishing two top-level jumps en route to the men's ski jumping title of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games here on Sunday.

It appeared as a battle of ski jumpers from Austria, Russia and Slovenia as two from each country formed the top six after the first jump, where Woergoetter led all athletes with 130.9 points from a 91.5-meter jump.

The Austrian continued his in-form performance in the second jump by showing 90 meters to earn 126.8 points, also the best of round among all athletes, and unsurprisingly pocketed the gold with 257.7 points.

Slovenia's Mark Hafnar climbed from the fourth place after the first jump to silver medal with a 89-meter second jump to earn 125.2 points, while trailing Woergoetter by 10.6 points.

Woergoetter's compatriot David Haagen rounded out the podium with 244.5 points over two jumps.

A ski jumping mixed team event is scheduled on Monday. Enditem
