German shares close flat

FRANKFURT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 6.93 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 13,555.87 points.

European health care company Fresenius SE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 1.81 percent. Deutsche Boerse group, marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities, and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical added 1.36 percent and 1.25 percent respectively.

German airlines Lufthansa lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 3.38 percent. Automotive supplier Continental and Deutsche Post shed 1.78 percent and 1.02 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 201.4 million euros (223.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
