KAMPALA, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan football star Allan Okello has joined Algeria Premier League side Paradou AC.

The 19-year old player joins the Algerian giants from Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC.

"We wish Okello success in his next career move. Thank you for serving KCCA FC," Moses Magero, the club spokesman told Xinhua on Tuesday.

Magero confirmed that Okello signed a contract for three years that keeps him at Paradou AC till 2023.

Okello was part of the squad that helped Ugandan national football team Cranes qualify for the 2020 Africa Nations Championship that will take place in Cameroon in April this year.

Abdallah Mubiru, the Uganda Cranes assistant coach said Okello's move to Algeria will help him develop as a player.

"It is good for the player and for Uganda as well," said Mubiru. Enditem
