SINGAPORE, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.21 percent, or 6.76 points, to close at 3,253.93.
A total of 2 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.09 billion Singapore dollars (about 807.63 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 209 to 205.
The STI index went down 1 percent, or 32.92 points, to close at 3,247.17 on Tuesday. Enditem
