MANILA -- The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte received a record-high satisfaction rating from Filipinos in the fourth quarter of 2019, an independent pollster's survey showed on Wednesday.
A Social Weather Station (SWS) survey, conducted on Dec. 13-16, found that 82 percent of the 1,200 adult Filipinos are satisfied, 10 percent dissatisfied and 8 percent undecided with Duterte's performance. (Philippines-President-Rating)

SEOUL -- A South Korean man on Wednesday was sentenced to an eight-month jail term for killing a lost dog, according to Yonhap news agency.

MACAO -- The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center of China's Macao Special Administrative Region government said on Wednesday that the first case of novel coronavirus has been reported in a local hospital.
