LONDON, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.85 percent, or 64.25 points, to close at 7,507.67 points.
Phoenix Group Holdings, a life insurance and pension funds services provider, soared 1.33 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Taylor Wimpey and Pearson increased by 1.16 percent and 1.04 percent, respectively.
Evraz, a multinational vertically integrated steel making and mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.47 percent.
