DAMASCUS, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Syria's Ministry of Oil said terrorist explosions have targeted the maritime pipeline networks in Banyas, northwestern Syria, on Monday.

The explosives were put in place by frogmen affiliated with the rebels, according to the state news agency SANA.

The technical staff have started to evaluate the damage in order to carry out maintenance work and resume oil production.

It's not the first time these pipelines are targeted.

The maritime pipeline networks in Banyas came under a similar attack in June 2019, causing oil leakage while rendering many pipelines out of service. Enditem
