RAMALLAH, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas threatened on Thursday to quit all peace agreements with Israel if Israel annexes the West Bank territories, two days after the U.S. peace plan was announced, a Palestinian official said.

Abbas issued the warning in a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mahmoud Aloul, deputy chairman of Abbas' Fatah Party, told reporters.

"The letter highlighted the Palestinian rejection of the American Deal of the Century," said Aloul, adding the Palestinian Authority hasn't informed Israel of freezing the bilateral security cooperation yet.

Earlier in the day, Israeli Public Radio reported that Abbas' "strongly worded" letter to Netanyahu noted the U.S. deal "annuls Oslo accords signed between Israelis and Palestinians in 1993."

The Palestinians will have the right to withdraw from all the signed agreements including the bilateral security cooperation between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, Abbas said in the letter.

Hussein al-Sheikh, a member of Fatah party's central committee, handed over the letter to the Israeli side, adding Abbas will call on the Palestinians to join popular protests against the deal, according to the radio report.

Meanwhile, Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, also said the U.S. deal "has practically ended Oslo peace accords."
