Egypt's non-petroleum exports hit 25.49 bln USD in 2019

CAIRO, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's non-petroleum exports reached 25.49 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, up from 25.14 billion in the previous year, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement on Monday.

Egypt's food exports increased to 283 million dollars in December, compared to 251 million in the same month in 2018, according to the statement.

Ismail Gaber, head of the General Organization of Export and Import Control, explained that Egypt's exports of foodstuff, agricultural crops, garments and engineering products saw a noticeable growth in the first 10 months of 2019.

He added that 25.49 percent of Egypt's non-oil exports in December 2019 went to Arab countries, European Union countries, United States and some African countries. Enditem
