Pakistan foils attempt to smuggle heroin in capital airport

ISLAMABAD, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan has foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin from the Islamabad international airport, local media and officials said Thursday.

According to the ANF officials, during a search of luggage of the passenger leaving for Britain through a private airline, over 2.5 kilograms of heroin concealed in utensils was recovered.

The man was arrested and sent to an undisclosed place for investigation. A case has been registered against the arrested.

In November last year, the airport security authorities recovered 840 grams of ice heroin from a passenger intending to fly to Bahrain. Enditem
