ROME -- A high-speed train derailed in northern Italy near Milan in the early hours of Thursday, leaving two railway employees dead and traffic interrupted on the busy line between Milan and Bologna.

State police said the train, which left Milan Central Station at 5:10 a.m. (0410 GMT) for Salerno, south of Naples, derailed near Lodi, about 100 km southeast of Milan. (Italy-Train Accident)

NEW DELHI -- A policeman was wounded Thursday in a grenade attack on a police station in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The grenade attack was carried out in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Militant-Kashmir)

KANDAHAR -- An insider attack on a checkpoint in Panjwayi district of southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province left five police personnel dead on Thursday, district police chief Sultan Mohammad Hakimi said.

BAGHDAD -- The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will hold a meeting in Baghdad in September to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the organization's foundation, authorities said Thursday.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry has formed committees to prepare for the occasion, as the OPEC will hold a celebration with the participation of the organizations' oil ministers, state-run al-Sabah newspaper quoted Asim Jihad, spokesman of the ministry, as saying. (Iraq-OPEC)

TEHRAN, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Iranian media on Thursday aired two videos claiming that they display the debris of a drone belonging to the United States which was downed by Iran in June 2019.

The 45- and 17-second videos are shown for the first time after the remain of the drone were taken from the Gulf waters, according to Khabar Fouri news channel. (Iran-U.S.) Enditem
