BANGKOK -- The nearly 18-hour shooting rampage that killed at least 27 people in Thailand's northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima ended, as the gunman himself was shot dead by security forces on Sunday.

Thai police announced that at 9: 00 a.m. on Sunday, the alleged gunman, Sgt. Maj. Jakrapanth Thomma was shot to death inside Terminal 21 shopping mall. (Thailand-Shooting-Death toll)

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia and Laos pledged on Sunday to further strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership for mutual benefit, a senior Cambodian official said.

The pledge was made during a meeting here between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and visiting Lao President Bounnhang Vorachit, said Eang Sophalleth, a personal assistant to the prime minister. (Cambodia-Laos-Relations)

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- Taliban militants attacked an airfield in the northern Kunduz province triggering gun battle which left six militants dead on Sunday, army spokesman in the restive province Abdul Khalil Khalili said.

According to the official, the armed militants fired three rockets that slammed into the airfield outside Kunduz city, the capital of Kunduz province, around noon and the soldiers at nearby returned fire killing six insurgents. (Afghanistan-Airfield-Attack)

NEW DELHI -- At least nine people died of electrocution and 18 others were injured in India's eastern state of Odisha when a moving bus came in contact with an 11 KV live transmission wire on Sunday, confirmed a senior district administration official to Xinhua via phone.
