UNITED NATIONS -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday reiterated the rejection of a newly released U.S. Middle East peace plan, calling it an "Israeli-American proposal."

"I have come to you on behalf of 13 million Palestinians to call for a just peace. That is all. I have come to you today to reaffirm the Palestinian position that rejects the Israeli-American proposal," Abbas told the UN Security Council, which met to discuss the U.S. plan. (UN-Abbas-US)

SKOPJE -- The Parliament of North Macedonia on Tuesday ratified the NATO Accession Protocol with all 114 MPs present voting in favor.

GENEVA -- The International Health Regulations Emergency Committee for Ebola virus disease will meet to assess whether the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

ADEN, Yemen -- A missile attack was carried out by the Houthi rebels against a government army base in Yemen's southern province of Abyan on Tuesday, killing 3 soldiers and injuring 15 others, a security official told Xinhua.
