German shares edge up Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 121.94 points, or 0.89 percent, to close at 13,749.78 points.

Automotive supplier Continental won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 6.63 percent. Automotive manufacturer BMW and Volkswagen rose by 4.13 percent and 3.40 percent respectively.

Energy group RWE lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.67 percent. Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical went down by 0.93 perceng and 0.33 percent, respectively.

Telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom was the most-traded share with a turnover of 233.5 million euros (254.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
