MANILA -- Philippine Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said on Thursday that no more joint military exercises between the Philippines and the United States will be conducted once the Visiting Forces Agreement is terminated in August this year.
"Once the termination is final, we will cease to have exercises with them (Americans)," Lorenzana in a statement after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to officially notify the U.S. government that Manila wants to end the accord. (Philippines-US-Military Ties)

LONDON -- Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid resigned Thursday as Prime Minister Boris Johnson reshuffled his cabinet.

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian government on Thursday recognized the Armenian Genocide as being committed by the Ottoman government in the early 20th century, as Syria's relations with Turkey have hit a new low.
