TOKYO, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks declined Friday morning, after inheriting a weak lead from Wall Street overnight, as investors eye a slew of upcoming indicators as to the state of the U.S. economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 123.14 points, or 0.52 percent, from Thursday to 23,704.59.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 10.58 points, or 0.62 percent, at 1,702.50.
Iron and steel, oil and coal, and construction-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
