BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Argentinos Juniors scored two late goals on Saturday to secure a 2-0 win at Atletico Tucuman and moved to within four points of Argentinian Superliga leaders River Plate.
Veteran Uruguayan striker Santiago Silva broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute and Gabriel Hauche doubled the visitors' lead six minutes later.
Atletico finished the match with nine men after Leandro Diaz and Guillermo Acosta were both sent off for violent conduct in the final 20 minutes.
The result left Argentinos Juniors third in the 24-team standings with 35 points from 20 matches. River Plate and second-placed Boca Juniors have the chance to move further ahead when they meet Banfield and Central Cordoba, respectively, on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Diego Maradona's Gimnasia side extended their winless run to four matches with a 1-0 defeat at Rosario Central. Sebastian Ribas put the hosts ahead with a 12th minute strike.
Aldosivi moved up to 19th place with a 2-0 win at relegation-threatened Huracan. Pablo Becker and Federico Acevedo scored either side of half-time for the visitors, who were reduced to 10 men in the 56th minute when Leandro Maciel received his second yellow card for a bad foul. It was Aldosivi's third win in their past five Superliga outings. Enditem
