WARSAW, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) --The head coach of the Poland men's volleyball team said his side has what it takes to win at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

"We have everything to achieve podium on the Olympic Games in Tokyo, so if we won't do that, I'll leave the team," said coach Vital Heynen in an interview for Sport Onet on Monday.

Poland, who placed third at the CEV European Championship 2019, will be among the favorites to win the gold in the Olympic men's volleyball tournament.

Heynen is also calling for the shortening of the domestic league to have more time to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.

"A long season is not beneficial for our team. I contacted the league authorities in December 2019 and I still believe we will find a solution. We need additional time to rest. Unfortunately, so far I haven't received any information on how to solve the problem. People are wrong if they think that winning a medal at such a difficult tournament as the Olympic Games will be easy. We need a huge sacrifice from everyone in Polish volleyball, it's not only about me and my players," concluded Heynen. Enditem
