TOKYO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Thursday morning with the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar overnight lifting exporter issues amid an upbeat mood on Wall Street's solid lead.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 207.07 points, or 0.88 percent, from Wednesday to 23,607.77.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, rose 10.91 points, or 0.65 percent, to 1,682.77.

Mining, pulp and paper, and transportation equipment-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
