ISTANBUL, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met with the head of the UN-recognized government in Libya, local media reported.
Erdogan received Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Government of National Accord (GNA), at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul behind closed doors, the state-run Anadolu agency said.
The meeting came after the UN Support Mission in Libya announced earlier this week the resumption of the Libyan Joint Military Commission talks in Geneva.
The North African country has been torn by a raging civil war, between the GNA based in the capital Tripoli and the Libyan National Army and its allies based in the east. Enditem
