ISTANBUL, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday met with the head of the UN-recognized government in Libya, local media reported.

Erdogan received Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Government of National Accord (GNA), at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul behind closed doors, the state-run Anadolu agency said.

The meeting came after the UN Support Mission in Libya announced earlier this week the resumption of the Libyan Joint Military Commission talks in Geneva.
