KAMPALA, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Hungary's Gergely Krausz took the men's singles champion of the 2020 Uganda International Badminton Open Championship that ended on Sunday evening in Kampala.

Krausz, who stopped England's Sam Parsons 2-1 in the semifinals, battled for 44 minutes in the final to defeat Sri Lanka's Nikula Karunaratne.

Krausz won the first set 21-18 before Karunaratne fought back to win the second 21-18. The Hungarian was dominant in the deciding set winning 21-13 as Karunaratne looked tired at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
