BISHKEK, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan said Monday it would bolster ties with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), particularly related to human trafficking and labor issues.
Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov and newly-appointed IOM Coordinator for Central Asia Zeynal Hajiyev discussed migration policy, labor migration concerns and the fight against human trafficking, according to a statement by the country's foreign ministry.
Aidarbekov noted the importance of expanding cooperation with the IOM and expressed gratitude to the intergovernmental agency for its continued support, the report said.
The IOM coordinator congratulated Kyrgyzstan on becoming the first country to eradicate statelessness. Enditem
