WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. biotech company Moderna announced on Monday that it has shipped its first batch of novel coronavirus vaccine to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for further research.

Vials of mRNA-1273 have been shipped to the NIAID to be used by government researchers in what is known as a Phase 1 Study at the National Institutes of Health, according to the Cambridge-based company. (US-Coronavirus)

NEW DELHI, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in violent clashes over controversial citizenship law in the Indian capital New Delhi has risen to seven, police said on Tuesday.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Five people including a civilian have been confirmed dead as the Taliban fighters stormed a security checkpoint in Charkent district of the northern Balkh province on Monday, district governor Salima Mazari said Tuesday.

A group of the armed militants, according to the official, attacked a security checkpoint in Parabarat village of the restive district at 03:30 a.m. local time on Monday, killing four pro-government militia members and a woman villager. (Afghanistan-Taliban-Attack)

SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- South Korea confirmed 60 more cases of the COVID-19 on Tuesday, raising the total number of infections to 893.
