BEIRUT, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Rafic Hariri Hospital registered the third case of COVID-19 in Lebanon while, Al-Jadeed local TV channel reported Thursday.

During the past 24 hours, the hospital has newly received 40 people suffering from symptoms of the virus. All the 40 people were examined clinically and nine of them were ordered to stay at the hospital for isolation while the others returned to their homes for self-isolation.

Local health experts have called upon Lebanon's cabinet to allocate a budget to create units aimed at isolating people at risk of being infected with the coronavirus to prevent its spread.

Lebanon's Health Ministry is isolating cases arriving from the infected areas if they show symptoms of the coronavirus while those who do not show symptoms are either isolated at the hospital or at home. Enditem
