11 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sweden

STOCKHOLM. Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Four new cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed in Sweden, bringing the total of infected individuals to eleven, Region Stockholm authorities said in a press release on Friday.

The newly confirmed cases concern one person in Uppsala region, one in Jonkoping region and two in Stockholm region.

The two infected people on Friday in Stockholm have connections to the case that was confirmed in the capital on Thursday, and have been detected through active infection tracking. The two are treated in isolation at the Karolinska University Hospital's infection clinic, according to the press release.

"Three people who are cared for in the Stockholm region have all shown mild symptoms; their conditions are stable," Per Follin, infection control manager of Stockholm region said in the press release.

In Jonkoping, a man in his 50s who returned after a trip to northern Italy became the new infected. Another infected person in Uppsala has been in Iran, and is being cared for in hospital. Enditem
