WARSAW, March 10 (Xinhua) -- General Jaroslaw Mika, the general commander of Poland's armed forces, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on Twitter Tuesday.

The general's aides have been put under quarantine, the ministry added.

General Mika had just returned from a military meeting in Germany. "The commander is feeling fine. The procedures have been effective and measures aimed to minimize the coronavirus risk have been introduced," the ministry tweeted.

The general commander's spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Marek Pawlak, told Polish Press Agency that Mika is under the supervision of military doctors.

Mika returned from Germany on a CASA C-295 military plane with more than a dozen people on board, all of whom, including the crew, have been put under quarantine, Pawlak added. Enditem
