OTTAWA -- Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in isolation for two weeks after his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, tested positive for COVID-19, the Prime Minister's Office said Thursday.
The prime minister exhibits no symptoms of the virus, said the office in a statement, adding that "he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days," but will not be tested "at this stage." (Canada-PM-COVID-19)

UNITED NATIONS -- A delegate from the permanent mission of the Philippines to the United Nations has tested positive for COVID-19, the first known case at the UN headquarters in New York, a UN spokesman said Thursday.

ROME -- A charter flight carrying a 9-member Chinese aid team, along with tonnes of medical supplies, arrived at Rome's Fiumicino Airport on Thursday night, in part of China's efforts to help Italy contain the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The Airbus A-350 wide body airliner, from China Eastern, landed around 22:30 local time at the cargo zone of the airport, greeted by a crowd of local experts from the Italian Red Cross, officials of the Italian Foreign Ministry and delegates from the Chinese Embassy to Italy. (Italy-China-COVID-19)

WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon confirmed Thursday night that the U.S. military conducted strikes against a Shia militia group's facilities across Iraq, as a response to Wednesday's rocket attack on Iraq's Camp Taji military base that had killed two U.S. soldiers and one British service member.
