SINGAPORE, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 1.18 percent, or 28.91 points, to close at 2,425.62.
A total of 2.65 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.33 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.62 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 384 to 150.
The STI index went down 1.65 percent, or 41.24 points, to close at 2,454.53 on Tuesday. Enditem
