Benin confirms second case of COVID-19

COTONOU, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Benin recorded its second case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to two, announced Benin's Minister of Health Benjamin Hounkpatin.

In a statement published the same day in Cotonou, Hounkpatin said the patient was a woman of German nationality who had been in self-isolation since Tuesday.

"The analyses on the patient confirmed her contamination of COVID-19. She was immediately taken care of at the isolation center where she is currently undergoing treatment. So far, her condition is stable," added the minister.

The first case of COVID-19 in Benin was confirmed on Monday in Cotonou. Enditem
