ULAN BATOR, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD) confirmed Saturday that four more Mongolian citizens have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of the confirmed cases in the country to 10.

"Four Mongolian citizens who arrived in Mongolia on chartered flight en route Berlin-Moscow-Ulan Bator on Monday tested positive for the novel coronavirus," Dulmaa Nyamkhuu, head of the NCCD, said at a press conference.

"Currently, a total of 193 people who have arrived from foreign countries have been kept in isolation in the NCCD for 14 days," he added.

Last Sunday, Mongolia started evacuating its citizens staying in some COVID-19-hit countries, including South Korea, Japan and European countries, on chartered flights.

A French national tested positive for the novel coronavirus on March 10, becoming the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Mongolia.

The other nine confirmed cases are Mongolian nationals who have returned home on chartered flights from abroad. Enditem
