RAMALLAH, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Palestine on Saturday shut down the Museum of Palestine in the West Bank as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Adela al-A'aidy, the museum's director general, said in a press statement that the museum's administration has launched an electronic campaign called "Your Home is your Museum", calling on the visitors to visit the museum on YouTube and other social media platforms.

The Palestine Museum was established in May 2016 in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

According to earlier reports of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians infected with the coronavirus has reached 52 on Saturday, including 17 cases who have recovered.

The Palestinian Authority had declared a status of emergency and carried out a series of tight precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the West Bank, as the Gaza Strip is still clear of COVID-19 cases. Enditem
