AMMAN, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Jordan said on Saturday 15 new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in the country, increasing the total number to 99, according to the health minister.

Jordan's Health Minister Saad Jaber said three of the 15 cases are for non-Jordanians and all the infected either came from abroad or got in contact with some who tested positive for the virus.

"Although the number of cases is limited and modest still, but this is a serious indicator that the virus has spread among locals who were infected by those coming from abroad," the minister said in a statement.

"We all have to abide by the law," he added.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said the government will announce next Monday the mechanism for citizens to buy their basic needs.

He said the public should get used to the current curfew and lifestyle as the situation might continue for days and weeks. Enditem
