SINGAPORE, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 5.76 percent, or 128.57 points, to close at 2,362.05.
A total of 1.50 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.94 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.34 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 372 to 139.
The STI index went down 7.35 percent, or 177.26 points, to close at 2,233.48 on Monday. Enditem
