Heavy rainfall, high winds affect Yemen's Aden

ADEN, Yemen, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Heavy rains accompanied by high winds hit Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Wednesday, affecting several residential neighborhoods and houses.
An official of Aden's local government told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that "heavy and continuous rains hit Aden causing major problems and leaving some residential houses ravaged."
The heavy rains mixed with strong winds disrupted the public transport system in some areas of Aden province, the source said.
Around five citizens were injured due to the stormy weather and floods that affected their homes in Aden, he said.
The Yemeni official called on the country's Saudi-backed government to instantly carry out rescue operations as some families are trapped inside their house due to the water. Enditem
