Italy grants Tunisia 54-mln-USD loan to combat COVID-19

TUNIS, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Italy granted Tunisia a loan of 50 million euros (54 million U.S. dollars) to help control the spread of the novel coronavirus, reported Tunis Afrique presse agency on Wednesday.

The loan will be used to support Tunisian companies in coping with repercussions of the COVID-19 on the socio-economic environment in Tunisia, according to the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation in Tunis.

On Wednesday, Tunisia confirmed 59 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 173. Enditem
