MOSCOW -- A Russian Su-27 fighter crashed in the Black Sea on Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, citing preliminary data.

"At around 20:10 Moscow time on March 25, a Su-27 fighter disappeared from radar during a scheduled mission over the Black Sea near Feodosia," the ministry's Zvezda broadcasting service said. (Russia-Fighter-Crash)

UNITED NATIONS -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday launched a 2-billion-U.S. dollar global humanitarian response plan to fight COVID-19 in some of the world's most vulnerable countries.

KAMPALA -- Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday announced a 14-day suspension of public transport as one of the measures aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19 in the east African country.

NEW YORK -- The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States topped 60,000 as of 3:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time on Wednesday (1930 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
