HARARE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwe's national airline, Air Zimbabwe, suspended all its flights beginning Thursday over the coronavirus pandemic.

Apart from serving local routes, the airline also plies regional routes in a few southern African countries.

"All regional and domestic flights have been suspended with effect from today March 26, 2020 until further notice.

"However, the last flight to Dar es Salaam shall operate on March 28, 2020 to assist returning residents," the airline said in a statement.

Zimbabwe has so far recorded three cases of coronavirus and one death.

The country has since declared the pandemic a national disaster, with government closing all borders and limiting public gatherings in a bid to stem the spread of the virus. Enditem
