KABUL, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Public Health Ministry reported 14 more confirmed cases of coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the total number to 110.

Wahidullah Mayar, spokesman of the ministry, said in a statement that 11 new cases were reported in western Herat, three in neighboring Farah and one in eastern Ghazni province.

The latest cases have brought the number of patients affected by the highly infectious disease to 110, including four U.S. and NATO-led coalition soldiers and two foreign diplomats in Kabul, according to Mayar.

The ministry also confirmed three deaths. Three infected people were discharged from the hospitals after treatment.

To stem the spread of COVID 19, the government has imposed a 21-day curfew in the capital of Kabul which came into effect Saturday, and the same measure was also imposed in three western cites of Herat, Farah and Zaranj days ago. Enditem
