Senegal reports 11 new cases of COVID-19, 130 cases in total

DAKAR, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday morning, bringing the country's total number of cases to 130.

During the daily press conference on COVID-19, Minister of Health and Social Action Abdoulaye Sarr said among 98 tests done, 11 were positive, including 2 imported cases, 8 close contacts of earlier confirmed patients, and 1 communication transmission case.

Seven patients have been tested negative with COVID-19 and considered as cured.

Among the 130 confirmed cases, 64 are imported ones. Eighteen patients have been declared cured by local health authorities.

Monday night, Senegalese President Macky Sall declared a state of emergency from midnight Monday, along with a dusk-to-dawn curfew.

Sall also banned public or private meetings of any kind, and ordered temporary closure of public places and meeting places.

Senegal has suspended all international passenger flights till April 17. Enditem
