Bangkok closes down more venues, re-opens food courts at hospitals amid COVID-19 outbreak

BANGKOK, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) on Saturday ordered additional closures of venues including places hosting competitions of all sorts, children's playgrounds, outdoor theaters, museums and libraries.
The order came in the wake of an increasing number of COVID-19 cases and an attempt to prevent crowd gatherings.
The BMA said the closure of venues has been extended to April 30 to comply with the Thai government's emergency order issued on March 25 Wednesday.
BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said that the BMA had decided to re-open food courts at hospitals where seats must be placed in a social-distancing manner.
Other venues re-opened will include flower stalls at markets, and the outlets of governmental organizations and state enterprises in department stores including post offices and immigration branches.
