YANGON, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will restrict public access to the terminal buildings of the Yangon International Airport amid fear of COVID-19 spread from Sunday, said a notice issued by the Yangon Aerodrome Company Limited (YACL), operator of the airport late Saturday.

Starting from Sunday, only travellers with valid air tickets and on-duty staff will be allowed to enter the airport's terminal buildings.

With 37 international airlines connecting Myanmar to 38 destinations, the airport served 6.5 million passengers in 2019, according to the YACL's figures.

At present, a total of eight COVID-19 infection cases have been reported in Myanmar as of Saturday. Enditem
