Myanmar reports 10 COVID-19 cases in one week

YANGON, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Two more COVID-19 cases were reported in Myanmar late Sunday, bringing the total number of the disease to 10 in first week of its spread in the country since March 23, said a release from the Health and Sports Ministry.

Both newly confirmed cases on Sunday are detected in Yangon region.

Of them, a 44-year-old male in Mingaladon township of Yangon was tested positive while being treated as a person under investigation after his recent arrival from Thailand.

Another newly infected patient is a 45-year-old male from Mingala Taungnyunt township, Yangon who was in close contact with the fifth patient who arrived in Myanmar after a one-month stay in Australia and a four-day stay in Singapore.

The newly laboratory confirmed patients are in stable condition while contact tracing of them is being carried out, the ministry's release said. Enditem
