Morocco's COVID-19 cases rise to 463

RABAT, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Morocco has risen to 463 as of Sunday 6 p.m. (1700 GMT), the Moroccan Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The death toll from the novel coronavirus has risen to 26, while 13 patients have recovered, said the statement.

The most affected regions are Casablanca with 133 cases, Fes Meknes with 87 cases, Rabat with 83 cases, and Marrakech-Safi with 81 cases.

In order to help cope with the COVID-19 outbreak, the North African country decided on March 27 to allocate additional funding of 200 million U.S. dollars to its health system.

Morocco declared on March 22 a one-month state of medical emergency until April 20.

The North African country has closed all its land and sea borders, and suspended all international passenger flights starting from March 15. Enditem
