CANBERRA -- The Australian government has announced a six-month wage subsidy package to support the economy amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, taking the total value of economic stimulus measures beyond 200 billion Australian dollars (123.2 billion U.S. dollars).

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Treasurer Josh Frydenberg unveiled the 130 billion Australian dollars (80 billion U.S. dollars) package on Monday, describing it as "unprecedented action." (Australia-COVID-19)

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in said on Monday that his government decided to provide each four-person household in the bottom 70-percent income group with 1 million won (820 U.S. dollars) in its emergency disaster relief package over the COVID-19 outbreak.

Moon made the remark during the third weekly meeting of the emergency economic council, saying the emergency disaster relief money of 1 million won will be offered to households with four members, of which gross income stays at or below 70 percent of the total, according to the presidential Blue House. SINGAPORE -- The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on Monday eased its monetary policy by adopting a zero percent per annum rate of appreciation of the policy band starting at the prevailing level of the Singapore dollar Nominal Effective Exchange Rate (S$NEER).
