SINGAPORE, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 4.1 percent, or 101.3 points, to close at 2,571.89.
A total of 1.78 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.98 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.39 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 386 to 84.
The STI index went up 3.4 percent, or 81.3 points, to close at 2,470.59 on Monday. Enditem
