ALGIERS, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Algeria has reached 1,825, while the death toll surged to 275, official figures showed on Saturday.
Djamel Fourar, head of COVID-19 Detection and Follow-up Commission, told reporters that 64 new infections and seven new deaths were confirmed during the past 24 hours.
He assured that the number of cured cases is taking upward trend, as 460 patients have recovered and left hospitals.
Authorities have imposed a 24-hour lockdown measure in the province of Blida, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, while partial lockdown has been observed in the rest of the North African country. Enditem
