BEIRUT, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Tension increased on Tuesday between Israeli and Lebanese armies on the border line extending from Adaisseh to Kafarkila in southern Lebanon, prompting intervention by the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Tensions on the borders took place after an Israeli infantry force of 24 members crossed the border line in the southern town of Adaisseh to install a tent with spy devices inside of it while attempting to build sand fortifications in lands considered by Lebanon as its own property, according to NNA.

Both sides have taken combat positions while the Israeli army directed its weapons towards Lebanese army members, the report said.

A UNIFIL force worked to reduce tension by contacting both the Lebanese and Israeli sides, which resulted in the withdrawal of the Israeli forces behind the border line. Enditem
