WARSAW, April 14 (Xinhua) -- 1982 world cup winner Francesco Graziani believed that SSC Napoli should sell Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik as "it would be easy to replace him."
Milik's representatives have held talks with Napoli to renew the player's contract but are yet to reach an agreement and the Italian media believe the forward is pushing for an exit from the "Partenopei". According to Italian legend Graziani, the club should let him walk.
"Milik is a good striker but he is not crucial for Napoli, not one of the most important players of the team. The Pole plays the same position as Dries Mertens and the Belgian spent much more time on the pitch. If Napoli decide to sell the Polish striker, it will be easy to replace him," said Graziani in the interview for Italy's Radio Kiss Kiss on Tuesday.
However, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli emphasized that the club would like to extend Milik's contract. "He is a very important player for us and we want to keep him. We held talks with his representatives to renew the contract. I'm aware that some clubs are interested in buying Milik, but we haven't received any official offers," Giuntoli was quoted as saying by the Italian media.
Napoli have also spoken with Milik's compatriot, midfielder Piotr Zielinski about a renewal. The Pole has been connected with several clubs but coach Gennaro Gattuso claimed in a press conference that "both Zielinski and Fabian Ruiz are not for sale". Enditem
