BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Brunei plans to introduce tracking devices for recovered COVID-19 patients and those undergoing quarantine at home, the country's Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.

Facing the difficulty of monitoring people moving around, the ministry believes that the electronic devices will help tracking the movements of those under quarantine to ensure they abide by their 14-day self-quarantine at home.

Brunei reported no new case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, marking the fifth day in a row without new cases since last Friday, when the first round of zero new cases reporting for five consecutive days was broken by one new positive patient.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health Wednesday, the country's tally of cases stands at 136 since the first case was detected in the sultanate on March 9. One relapse case was discharged on Wednesday after follow-up laboratory tests gave a negative result for COVID-19. However, as a precautionary measure, the case will undergo another 14 days of self-quarantine at home.

The ministry added that so far 81 individuals are still undergoing quarantine and 2,394 people have completed the quarantine period. Some 10,579 laboratory tests for COVID-19 have been conducted. Enditem
